The project was designed to help educate young people on the importance of the environment and the role individuals and communities have to play in protecting and preserving it. As part of the project, students would also plant trees at their respective schools as well as collect litter to help keep the environment clean. They would also be expected to create and run an environmental awareness campaign which would include a live phone radio program where they would engage key policy makers on environmental issues.
While more than 10 secondary and primary schools in Mongu,Western Zambia have signed up for the project, it is yet to receive donations. This has stalled project implementation.
We conitnue to seek ways to encourage potential donors to donate to this project. Without the much needed support, implementation will not be possible.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
