The project will raise awareness about the importance of the environment and the role individuals and communities have to play in preserving it.
There is very little information on the environmental and the role individuals especially young people have to play in preserving. 5000 students from 7 schools will benefit from the project through environmental education as well as training on environmental protection The Mongu community as well will benefit from the planned tree planting and litter picking activities while the environment is also expected to benefit from improved awareness as well as litter picking and tree planting.
The project will work will young people aged 10 - 25 to raise awareness about the importance of the environment, plant trees to help reduce the rampant destruction of forests as well as find alternate environmentally friendly uses for litter. As part of the litter picking campaign the project will build life sized sculpture of T-Rex from recyclable waste material like plastic papers.
In the long term the project will help fight climate change by helping communities understand they are directly connected to the environment. 5000 students will learn about environmental protection and climate change An estimated 200,000 people will benefit from the environmental program to run on local radio
