Across Colombia, many communities remain excluded from the full promise of the internet. In some places, connectivity is unstable, expensive, or simply unavailable. In others, people may technically be connected but still face barriers that keep them from using the internet in meaningful ways: lack of devices, low digital confidence, limited local content, unsafe digital environments, and few community spaces where technology can become useful for everyday life.
The Library of the Future helps rural communities use the internet collectively to learn, connect, and solve local challenges. Through SOLE Labs, SOLE Voltaje, SOLE ++, and the SOLE Movement, communities access shared devices, open-source tools, and self-organized learning around Big Questions. Your donation supports connectivity, facilitators, learning sessions, storytelling, and exchanges that turn digital access into meaningful participation.
The Library of the Future helps rural communities reclaim agency over how they learn, connect, and imagine their future. It strengthens digital skills, local knowledge, collective problem-solving, and participation for women, youth, elders, educators, and community leaders. With SOLE Colombia's proven reach, this model can reduce digital exclusion, expand opportunities, and build other internets rooted in dignity, care, curiosity, and collective learning.
