We THANK YOU again, for helping us raise and even surpass our goal of $22,997 towards the construction of a Community Cooker for Pirates Self Help Youth Group, Mathare, Kenya.
The idea of supporting a Cooker in Mlango Kubwa for the Pirates Youth Group arose when the group was being evaluated for a local hero award in waste management. Their work in waste management in this informal settlement, has brought them into the forefront of local groups trying to address the rubbish problems currently facing all of Nairobi.
We are still in Phase 3 out of 7 of our project implementation plan: Approvals. We have received approval to proceed with construction from the National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA) after an Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) Report was done. However, we are awaiting approvals from the County Government of Nairobi, and then we can begin!
Our Objectives:
We know there are a lot of other ways you could have spent this money, but you believed in our cause, so you chose to invest it in our project. So don’t lose hope! Now that our project is fully funded, we will be sending you regular reports about our work. You'll know what your donation has helped fund and what accomplishments we have achieved.
From the Community Cooker Foundation team, thank you!
