The past few months have been challenging. Emotions of fear and anxiety are beginning to be felt more strongly by people after a year and a half of lockdowns and restrictions due to Covid19.
For Such a Time as This, has not stopped working to help our communities. Health is always important but in the times we live in it is even more important. In PR, we have mask mandate and this adds to the financial burden of families. To help with this, in the past months we have delivered PPE/ Covid19 equipment to organizations and communities. (masks, alcohol, disinfectants, etc). This has been possible thanks to Puerto Rico Rises.
In June we started our back to school campaign for our children, we are currently delivering school supplies in different communities. The children have gone through very difficult times. At their young age they still cannot understand. For this reason, bringing them their new school items and seeing their smiles is priceless... and you are a very important part of their happiness.
On the other hand, six out of 10 children in Puerto Rico live below the poverty level, according to the most recent data from the Census Bureau. Our high child poverty rate intertwines with all of our structural economic problems: labor, economy, inequality, barriers to employment, long-term labor productivity, among others. For this reason we have continued to help families providing groceries on a monthly basis.
We are part of the non-profit organization, Movement, New York. We have had the opportunity to meet with leaders from the U.S. and PR to create partnerships to work united for Puerto Rico.
We we were extremely blessed to join to a group of young adults from GSMF (Dallas). We went out to the streets of the city San Juan to bring music, love, faith, prayer and hope. It was a fun and joyful time.
In the past 3 months we have impacted the cities of Maricao, Quebradillas, Aguadilla, Rincon and Cabo Rojo. All this we have achieved thanks to you, our partners! We are grateful because Brinks Co. and Next Impact, LLC among other individual partners have joined our great family of partners! It is an honor to be able to have your trust.THANK YOU..THANK YOU!
