Community health in Chiapas: water and first aid

We want to start by saying how much we appreciate your collaboration until now.

Thanks to the support of all of you, the project desired by the Aguacero team continues to move towards its intended goals, sharing basic knowledge about first aid and bringing water filters to rural and indigenous communities here in Chiapas.

The work schedule for the next three months is almost ready. We have bought the components to make the filters we need for the 20 families of a village in the jungle and we are assembling them in our warehouse.

We also saw with concern the humanitarian emergency that migrants are going through in this part of their way to northern Mexico and we decided to be aware of their needs and also to support by donating ten water filters to local organizations that work here in Chiapas, trying to make their way less painful.

In February, the first first aid course is scheduled in the Pacific Coast region, with ten people of a local cooperative dedicated to fishing and tourism. We are very excited about this.

We were updating ourselves for the workshops and we gave two first aid workshops here in the city of San Cristobal de las Casas, strengthening the local communities in their knowledge to face health adversities.

The staff of Aguacero Tecnologia y Salud Comunitaria is ready to start the challenges of the new year and we are happy because we feel accompanied by all of you.
