Tutoring - in person and online - continues in both the Yellow Flower and the Rose cemeteries for kids from elementary through high school. While they continue the search for a new home to house survivors in East Java, the Grace House staff has been walking daily alongside the families in the cemeteries along with the community development staff. We are grateful for the thriving exchange of life in both communities.
Meanwhile, children from Yellow Flower and Rose are regularly attending the Smart Kids Class in-person and online. Together, they learn how to make daily schedule routines that help them plan when to wake up, how to help mom clean and do chores, and when to take a shower and study. We are amazed at how they grow in leaps and bounds every day!
Recently, a large group of kids from Yellow Flower were able to visit the Surabaya Zoo with Compassion First staff. It was a very fun, if also rather rainy, day. We can’t wait to take kids from Rose Cemetery on the next field trip to the zoo!
