RISE had the opportunity to connect with two local employers to provide and to witness the commitment to provide financial education to their employees in the workplace during working hours; and, to witness the employees' appreciation for having the opportunity to obtain additional skills (financial) in addition to their regular job responsibilities. Facilitators could see the shift in attitude from the first to last class. At the beginning of both classes, participants shared they were overwhelmed, frustrated, and did not feel confident concerning their finances. Throughout 8 sessions, RISE planted seeds of a different way for people to look at their finances. By the end, participants shared they felt more confident. They also said they now hold themselves more accountable in monitoring their spending and learned how creating a spending plan is important to reaching their financial goals.
