Kimberly, a registered dental assistant for a local children’s dental center, is married with five school-aged children. She was referred to GMFEC by a realtor, who was also a family member. One of her financial goals was to pay down her debts. Through the program, Kimberly realized that first and formost she had to stay focused to accomplish her goals.
With the help of her financial counselor, Kimberly resolved her delinquent accounts, and paid the balances down on her current/active accounts. She credits her financial counselor for helping her to understand how the credit system works. Kimberly says, “My financial counselor has given me the confidence to never give up.
Kimberly now actively practices self-control in her spending. She has paid down her debt, which has helped her to increase her credit score by 114 points. Kimberly proudly states that "I know my spending limits, and I am being more responsible in maintaining my finances.”
