Introduction
In our last update, we shared the funding limitations that prevented us from implementing activities as planned. While those challenges remain, we are encouraged to report that we have taken first steps to begin education on malnutrition prevention in our communities.
Progress Update
Despite financial constraints, our team has started awareness and sensitization sessions with mothers, caregivers, and school children in Abuja and Kaduna. These sessions emphasize:
The importance of balanced diets using locally available foods.
Practical ways to improve child feeding with minimal resources.
Hygiene practices to reduce illness that worsens malnutrition.
Even with modest reach so far, families have expressed gratitude for the knowledge gained, which many say is already changing how they feed their children.
Challenges
Our biggest challenge continues to be the lack of sufficient funds to roll out large-scale interventions such as food distribution, nutrition starter packs, and expanded training.
Next Steps
We remain committed to scaling our impact. In the coming months, we plan to:
1. Expand malnutrition awareness to three additional communities.
2. Provide nutrition starter packs for at least 100 vulnerable children.
3. Train Nutrition Champions (local volunteers) who will sustain awareness and support families beyond our direct intervention.
Conclusion
Although progress has been slower than we hoped due to financial limitations, the work has begun — and the seeds of change are being planted. With your partnership, we can take this project from sensitization to full implementation, saving the lives of children vulnerable to malnutrition.
Thank you once again for walking with us in this mission. Your continued support means more than words can express.
