Project Report | Dec 30, 2019
Impact of destitute centre

By Bharath N | Operations Manager

Our shelter for the destitute, “Care”, was setup to meet their physical, social and psychological needs. A satisfactory accommodation, nutritious food, care, psycho-social assistance and medical facilities that maintain human dignity to the abandoned ones of the street is provided. It is a 15-bedded centre with 5 staff including a full time nurse.

From the last quarter we provided service to 16 destitute. We did survey in Chamarajanagar, Ramanagar, Mysore and Mandya Districts. We identified 40 destitute. But only 16members agreed to join our centre. We informed their local police stations and brought to our centre. Now they’re happily spending their life here.

Out of 16, due to maintenance issues we send 4 destitute to well developed centre in Bangalore, 5 destitute got rehabilitated completely. Now this peoples physical conditions improving day by day. We started to provide many recreational facilities through volunteers. It’s also helping to create positive attitude between inmates.
