The project has made real progress with a great blend of soft-skills and technical computer skills , which will be given to offenders near the end of their sentence. This of course continues after release. This project will give these young people a direct step into a work based apprenticeship. Upon release, we give students an apprenticeship soft skills education for four weeks. When this is completed the students will then be able to apply to a range of technology companies, who are looking to provide employment opportunities for some of our young people.
The funds received will help us to develop a top class soft-skills programme - this will be in association with Social Butterfly Effect, an inclusion company that engages hard to reach at risk young people, we confront key issues that will act as a barrier to success.
The project has gathered momentum. We now have a significant amount of teach companies who have signed up, willing to offer our young people an interview after release on their apprenticeship programmes.
