March 2011

2011 has gotten off to a great start for CEDPA’s coaching program!  One hundred and twelve women leaders from the Global Women in Management and Advancing Women’s Leadership and Advocacy for AIDS Action workshops graduated from this year-long coaching program in 2010 with a 91% completion rate.  We expect more than 100 clients in 2011.

CEDPA’s coaching program maintains a South-South focus, pairing coaches and clients from developing countries in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America.  These inspiring women all work in the field of women’s empowerment; some work to advance women’s economic participation while others focus on HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment.

Clients of CEDPA’s coaching program have greatly benefited from the experience.  Jeanina from Costa Rica said, “My life changed after CEPDA’s program…I will never be the same.  I have become a better leader and a better woman, both within my organization and community and even at home – always trying to humbly teach about and work toward strategies and possible solutions to HIV/AIDS with all of the men and women involved.”

Seven years since the program’s inception, CEDPA has developed a network of 91 coaches in 40 countries.  The program is expanding fast, and now more than ever we need to support emerging women leaders at the grassroots level to continue learning and growing beyond the training.

Thank you for your contribution - your support is helping change the lives of women who, in turn, are making positive changes in their own communities!!
