The Mobile Support Units offer patients In Wales more than lifesaving treatment; they are a haven where patients can get the support they need without the stress and expense of travelling long distances to hospital.
The appeal was launched across Wales in 2017 with an initial aim of raising £1m to construct and operate an additional unit to meet the ever increasing demand on the existing two units.
The response from all parts of the community has been overwhelming. Donations have been received from the Rotary GlobalGiving Campaign and from many individuals and organisations. The contributions have enabled the construction of a new unit, which is currently being commissioned, ready to enter service in the very near future.
HRH Princess Anne, Patron of the Tenovus Cancer Care Charity, will launch the unit in Cardiff in October.
The appeal has made an ernormous impact on the community in Wales and the success to date of the campaign has encouraged the organisers to continue their efforts to try to purchase not just one but two units ....and so the campaign goes on!
We thank you for your generous support and would ask that you continue to pass on the details of our appeal to your friends and contacts so that we can truly make a difference to the lives of cancer patients in Wales, enabling them to receive treatment "Closer to Home".
