Dear donors and supporters:
The Xieti Nature Reserve at Lake Tota is the official home of the Muyso School - The Citizen Science & Restoration Hub. This initiative is gradually transforming the reserve into a "living school," enhancing our goal of delivering environmental culture through direct experience.
From a restoration perspective, Xieti’s impact is improved by aiming to serve as a dedicated hub for participatory science, addressing local knowledge gaps regarding nature’s rights. By combining active ecosystem recovery with community education, we are building long-term human-nature harmony and sustainable practices in the Andes.
In recent days, we have been planting Colombian Oaks (Quercus humboldtii) along the whole access to Xieti and near to Lake Tota, with a voluntary help from some citizens of Sogamoso. This will gradually improve our intern ecosystem, to enhance environmental education by example.
