Each year, World Vision works alongside communities to ensure children have access to clean water, dignified sanitation, and healthy hygiene practices—all foundational to child well-being.
In FY21 alone, we helped 113,879 Zambian children and youth access clean water, 165,557 access household sanitation, and 141,387 access handwashing facilities.
World Vision is committed to finishing the job in Zambia of reaching everyone, everywhere we work, with clean water access by 2025. In fiscal year 2021, we:
Hellen, 18, is filled with joy. She now has access to clean water at school, can drink it without fear of becoming ill, and can regularly wash her hands to prevent the spread of diseases. “Thanks, World Vision, for making us have a good education and observe hygiene through the provision of tapped water,” said Hellen. “Water is everything.” In FY21, through our partnership, 54 schools received drinking water facilities and 16 schools are now equipped with menstrual hygiene management facilities for girls to wash, change, and dispose of menstrual waste. Thank you for helping girls stay in school and reach their full potential.
