In many rural communities across Uganda, women and children spend long hours around traditional cooking fires, often in poorly ventilated spaces. The Girl Child Foundation Uganda (GIFU) is seeking donor support to train rural women on clean cookstoves and promote safer, more sustainable cooking practices.
Through this initiative, women will gain practical skills on the proper use, maintenance, and benefits of clean cookstoves. The training will help households understand how cleaner cooking technologies can reduce smoke exposure, use less fuel, lower household cooking costs, and contribute to a healthier home environment.
Clean cooking is more than a household solution—it is an opportunity to improve the wellbeing of entire communities. When women have access to knowledge and appropriate technology, they can become powerful advocates for healthier and environmentally responsible practices.
Your continued support will enable GIFU to reach more rural women with this vital training. Together, we can help create cleaner kitchens, healthier families, and more sustainable communities in Uganda.
