In partnership with Nightingale Primary School and Hammond Hope, this project will equip two schools in Jaxaay, Senegal-Ecole Primaire de la Cite de Gendarmerie and Ecole Bilingue Aliou Coumba Sow-with essential books and learning materials. Beyond the classroom, it will connect students in Senegal and the UK through cultural exchange, creating opportunities to learn from one another, discover new perspectives, and build meaningful connections across borders.
In Senegal, nearly 38% of children ages 6-16 are out of school, while the national illiteracy rate remains 37.1%. Many children also lack access to basic learning tools such as books, computers, and school supplies. These barriers limit opportunity and widen educational inequality. This project helps close that gap by providing resources and creating meaningful global connections.
This project will provide schools in Senegal with funding and essential learning materials, including books, computers, and school supplies, helping create better learning environments and keep children in school. In partnership with Nightingale and Hammond Hope, it will also connect students in Senegal and the UK through cross-cultural exchange, expanding learning, opportunity, and connection beyond the classroom.
The long-term vision is to build stronger, better-equipped schools where more children can stay in school and access quality education. By investing in sustainable educational resources and creating lasting connections between students in Senegal and the UK, this project can grow beyond individual classrooms-building a generation of globally connected students with greater opportunities to learn, dream, and succeed.
