Project Report | Jun 10, 2019
Pro bono professional services and a race for Wixarika children education

By Alma Juarez | Executive Director

Dear donor,

In Fundación Iyari Alba we know that little steps lead to great achievements and that the sum of your contributions is what has allowed us to continue with the project of building classrooms in the Sierra Wixárika.

Pamparios! (Thank you in Wixárika)

We want to share with you the advances we have had since March to date:

3Arquitectura, the company that has donated the architectural project, has updated the executive project for the classrooms, after hearing feedback from the Wixárika community and from the builders of the first classroom. In the next months we will also have the architectural project of the kitchen and dining room, the restrooms and the exterior areas, elements that together with the classrooms complete the construction project of the Diana Laura Rioja Elementary School.

Circuito - Johnson Controls accepted the invitation to carry out pro bono the mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering project for the school. We already have shared with them the architectural project so in the following months they'll deliver the MEP project.

On May 31, we opened registrations for the 3rd Iyari Alba Race with the goal of raising more funds for the construction of classrooms in the Sierra Wixárika. The event will be on September 8 and will bring together 1000 runners of 5&10K and 250 participants of the 3K walk, each of them will receive a medal with Wixárika art!

Meanwhile, in the mountains in Mezquitic, the students and teachers of the Diana Laura Rioja Elementary School are enjoying the first classroom of the project built and are getting ready for the end of the school year 2018-2019. Eight students complete their elementary education this year! Our school infrastructure adaptation and construction project will allow more and more Wixaritari children to reach elementary education.

Thank you for making this possible!

We hope to hear from you soon!

Estimad@ donador@,
