By Trudy Banda | Principal of Chikumbuso
Holiday breaks at Chikumbuso seem so short lived for the teachers and staff but not so for the students. To the students Chikumbuso center is their "home away from home". It is their safe shelter where they do not have to worry about water, what to eat, or strangers in their path. Next week the school doors open to over 350 students in grades 1-6. Each one of these students is excited to be back, and has a dream for the year to come and their future.
Since 2005 our school has been educating the children of Ng'ombe, feeding them and helping out in their homes. We want to thank you for your support and ask you to help us give them the best year ever in 2014. So many of our students still need the books and supplies we take for granted here in the U.S.; many children in our compound are kicked out of school for lack of a pen or pencil. Help us make sure that they are prepared and have all they need to be successful.
School is just around the corner!
