The students are closing in on a successful 1st half of the 2017/2018 school year. And the Foundation was hard at work organizing and hosting our 7th Annual Silent Auction. We were able to raise our needed fund plus more so that we can ensure the ongoing support to our students and staff at The Shining Light School.
Our Classroom Impact Project is off to a strong start. We have delivered needed books in November and we have purchased new white boards for all 9 of the classrooms to be delivered in December.
We are continuing to focus on Teacher Training with the school to facilitate access to advance teacher training resources and digital tools, best practices, and leadership development to cultivate a collaborative teaching environment. And to ensure this is in-line with the Nigerian’s Ministry of Education’s curriculum.
We are looking forward to our holiday visit at the school! Every child will receive journals, books, coloring books, pens, crayons, or markers. Our upper classmen will even receive much needed backpacks.
IBSF is continuing to support another local primary school located in the Lekki area of Lagos, Ife Oluwa. They occasionally request emergency and/or critically needed repairs and supplies. Many of their desks were still in a state of disrepair after the summer flooding. And we were able to spend funds in November to make those needed repairs.
We hope you had a wonderful Holiday season as well and we are sending a huge THANK YOU from Nigeria! All your support and encouragement makes these projects possible and we couldn't do this without you.
Cheers!
