A decade full of good news
We started the year 2023 very actively. Here's a summary of what has been happening in the organization.
For two days in January, Para la Naturaleza and Basura Cero held a "drive-thru'' program from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at four different locations on the island (San Juan, Lajas, Fajardo, and Manatí) to recycle Christmas trees. They were able to collect 1,050 pine trees. Read the article from El Nuevo Dia.
We are proud to have 3 students from the University of Puerto Rico doing internships with us. A doctoral student, and a master's student, both from the Public Health School, and a recent graduate in Communications. The 3 members are putting all their knowledge and dedication to continue the organization's mission and vision. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Green Bag Fest is an event that encourages the public to bring their plastic types 1 and 2 to recycling and reduce the amount of plastic that ends up in our oceans and landfills. The event will take place now in April. If you are interested in being part of our team of volunteers, register at the end of this message in the link provide and we will contact you for more information. Your help is very important to make Green Bag Fest a success!
We had a TV interview with the Vice President of Empresas Otero on "Pelota Dura" in its section "Los Buenos Somos Más", where we shared with the host one of the milestone projects of Basura Cero which is about to be launched as a glass recycling pilot project in the Municipality of Manatí.
The DEA is back with its campaign to collect unused or expired medications, including pet medications. This event is essential to prevent the misuse and improper disposal of drugs. Do not throw them in the trash or flush them down the toilet. Dispose your medications to a collection center or create one in your community. Visit www.dea.gov.

Una década llena de buenas noticias
Iniciamos el año 2023 muy activos. Aqui un resumen de lo que ha estado aconteciendo en la entidad.
Durante dos días para el mes de enero, Para la Naturaleza y Basura Cero tuvo un programa de servicarros de 8:00 a.m. a 3:00 p.m. en 4 diferentes puntos de la isla (San Juan, Lajas, Fajardo y Manatí) para reciclar árboles de Navidad. Se logró acopiar 1,050 pinos. Vea el articulo de El Nuevo Dia
Nos sentimos orgullosos de contar con 3 estudiantes de la Universidad de Puerto Rico. Un estudiante doctoral y estudiante de maestría ambos de la escuela de Salud Pública y una recién graduada de Comunicaciones. Los 3 integrantes están poniendo todo su conocimiento y dedicación para continuar la misión y visión de la organización. ¡Gracias, gracias, gracias!

Estuvimos junto a la vicepresidente de Empresas Otero, en una entrevista televisiva para el programa “Pelota Dura” en su sección “Los Buenos Somos Más” donde compartimos con la animadora uno de los proyectos hitos de Basura Cero está a por lanzar, como piloto del reciclaje de vidrio en el Municipio de Manatí.
La DEA vuelve con su campaña de recogido de medicamentos en desuso o expirados, incluyendo los medicamentos de sus mascotas. Este evento es indispensable para evitar el mal uso y la mala disposición de los medicamentos. No lo tires a la basura ni al inodoro. Lleva tus medicamentos a un centro de acopio o crea un centro de acopio en tu comunidad, visite www.dea.gov
