HOPE ALIVE
Sharing stories with our beneficiaries, the dysformed children, C4HDI and other local authorities appealed to the psyche of the children as the forum was interactive. They were happy listening and asking questions. We were particularly moved by a question asked by one of the children. " Can God change situations of people"? He asked. After a roll of confusion amongst us on who was to answer the question, we appointed the project lead officer to answer. She responded that God can truly change situations of people. Looking pitifully at the abnormal curved neck of the boy, with rather a bigger than normal head which seems to be heavier to the neck that caused the disformity, we realized that he needed this change of situation for him.
GIFTS SHARED
It will be noted that during our storytelling period, some beverages were shared among our beneficiaries so, while the period was going, they were eating and listening and participating.
We brought out our assorted gifts and started sharing them. It was Yuletide and the love they received was tremendously great. Some of them who were given packet shirts were helped to open it as it posed a challenge for them. There were screams of surprises, Oh! Uh! Ah! As they exclaimed surprises. It was unfortunate that we couldn't take them around town this last season because our funds couldn't help us us actualize the plans.
SINGING TOGETHER
Carol was next in the list of our agenda after the sharing of gifts. And so, we started with chorus carol of which the children joined. Jingle bells jingle bells....and so everybody joined in the shouts. We appointed one of our beneficiaries to be the lead on a particular rhyme. She started and midway she goofed because she didn't really know the wordings of the song. We corrected her and continued. Laughs and fun was it. Our beneficiaries were happy with all our packages and program.
TIME TO GO
Spending about 9 hours with our beneficiaries, it was time to go home. Closing prayers were said and they expressed their appreciation. They thanked us, donors and stakeholders who made our visit and gifts possible.
We shall visit them again.
