Christmas gift to 200 needy families in Kenya

Dear friends,

Please receive love greetings from Kenya. We are glad for an oppotunity to send you some updates again, as always we must first begin by thanking you and recognize that without your donations and moral support we would not do much.

In our past reports, you might have noticed that we dwell alot to tell you about the nature of gifts we give out during Christmas, mostly being foodstuff, clothing, shoes and retreats for disadvantaged children. But today we want to highlight on another kind of gifts to needy children. These are gifts that outlast the festive period. After every Christmas there is a new schooling year and we arealized many children from poor homes report to school in the same old school uniform and for this reason we decided to spend less on retreats but increase on food donations and school uniforms. When we took a simple servey we realized that, while the beneficiaries were very happy to receive gifts of foodstuff etc during Christmas, many kids were more appreciative for school uniforms which they say make them feel confident and happier when starting a new year.

Our school uniform program last Christmas was however very small because of limitation of funds, we barely gave out school uniform to under 15 beneficiaries which is like a drop in the ocean condidering the magnitude of need. However we are encouraging local support, we are urging our people to consider donating school uniforms that their children no longer use and we are glad though gleam there is some hope at the end of the tunnel. We also urge your continued support to enable us touch more lives. We hope to communicate to you again soon and share our progress reports as well as challenges.
