Howler Monkey eating at La Reserva
Howler Monkey eating at La Reserva

Costa Rica is one of the most bio-diverse countries on the planet, and we are losing that diversity at an alarming rate. Just one example: the howler monkey population has dropped by 50% in just the last 15 years -- mostly due to loss of habitat. This rapid rate of species depletion is accelerated by the isolation that occurs when patches of forest are separated by areas of development and farming. We have witnessed at La Reserva the return of many species of birds as well as monkeys, sloths and other wildlife when we provide corridors for their feeding and migration. This project offers the opportunity to connect two existing forests by providing the biological corridor necessary for many species migratory patterns.

Your support will help counteract the development around Lake Arenal that continues to take its toll on species survival and will provide direct relief for threatened species like the howler monkey.
