Project Report | Feb 11, 2009
Chujiang School fundraising update

By Andrew Strott | Managing Partner

Wednesday, February 11, 2009

Respected donors and volunteers:

Thank you for your gracious help with the Chujiang High School reconstruction project in Sichuan Province, China.

As we mentioned in our update two days ago, on Feb 8, 2009, the grand opening ceremony took place, marking the official start of reconstruction, although the construction work formally started at the end of last year.

Over 500 people, including Chujiang high school teachers, students, parents, town folks, workers and government leaders from Chengdu City Education Bureau, Chengdu Education Foundation and DaYi County, attended the ceremony.

It was very touching to see so many people this project has influenced.

Although we have made important progress, we still have important tasks to accomplish:

Primarily, we need to raise more funds. The reconstruction work will be finished on August 20th 2009. The workers are now striving to complete it on time for students to move out of their poor temporary classrooms and dormitories.

However, we still need to raise an additional $1.5MM of reconstruction capital in order to make sure the reconstruction work does not cease because of the capital shortage.

We hope you can make every effort to raise funds in the most urgent manner.

We and the children of Chujiang School thank you for your kind assistance and generosity.
