We are very happy to share that our New Respite Home for Children with Disabilities is Now Open!
As many of you will know, ensuring we could support children with disabilities in Haiti was an essential part of our plans as we transitioned away from our long-standing hospital partnership this year. After a lot of preparation work, we are delighted to announce that our new respite home opened yesterday with a new name – Maison de Grâce!
The last weeks and months have been incredibly busy ensuring the new building was renovated and fit for purpose for kids with a range of special needs. The staff, many of whom rejoin us from the original team, have received further training and have been super keen to start work in the new home.
Even though the home has been well prepared with all the necessary physio equipment, sensory toys and adapted play equipment, we are excited to have many more items are on their way, which will enrich the care, learning and play experiences and opportunities for the ‘Maison’ kids.
We can’t wait to share more with you about how the team and kids get on in their new home. We have big plans for this project so watch this space for updates. Thanks for all your support!
