2018 if off to a great start with our Children's Literacy initiatives. We continue to run customised, one-on-one or one-on-two literacy sessions with children in our libraries, all day, every day. The children, aged 5 to 10, continue to make fantastic progress.
In our our reading initiatives, our libraries have rolled out some new reading competitions, book clubs, and after-school activities. We are teaching children to borrow books (something that never happens here) to take home, treasure, read with their parents, and bring back to the school.
We also recently hosted a giant book day celebration where we distributed over 800 books to children and their parents. Parents got to hear some of our best children read stories and show off their new language skills.
Reading changes lives and we thank you for being a part of investing in our children's education and futures.
Very sincerely,
The entire Masinyusane team
