Successfully acheiving this fundrising goal means several life-changing heart procedures will be sponsored next year!
Yes, during the March 6-24, 2020 medical mission team to Thua Thien Hue Province, 5-6 individuals will be able to have their heart repaired. These are individuals, families, Mom's or Dad's who otherwise would have no hope. They are economically disadvantaged, many are simple subsistence farmers, who live in a mountainous rural region of the province near the Laotian border.
Years ago heart operations had to be done in Thailand, Indonesia, Malyasia, Japan, South Korea, Australia or even the United States. Too many dollars had to be expended on travel. Now these patients are two hours or less from an operation which will change their life forever.
VWAM will be serving in the village of Hong Ha and the small city A Luoi, 45 and 65 kilometers respectively west of Hue City. The operations will be done at Hue Central Hospital at its Heart Institute in conjunction with the Medical College. Years ago this could not happen. Facilities weren't in place, physicians and surgeons weren't trained. But it's a new day in Vietnam because cardiologists and surgeons have been trained, and first-class facilities are in place to perform heart surgeries.
And because of your generosity, Vets With A Mission will not only see that these much needed operations are done, it will match the funds raised through Global Giving. That raises the total available for surgeries to nearly $22,000!
VWAM will be able to bless a baby or child, a teenager or perhaps a young adult with a procedure that could be life-saving. It will not only change their life, but the positive impact this will have on other family members is substantial.
And it was made possible because of you and your generosity. THANK YOU for helping Vets With A Mission help the Vietnamese.
