Recent estimates identify 520 million children are living in conflict zones, with the largest share in Africa, where about 218 million children live in areas affected by conflict. These are children whose daily lives have been disrupted by war, displacement, loss, and instability. "Especially in the context of war, conflict, and forced displacement, children should not have to care for children on their own. We cannot allow war to have the final word in these young lives."
