The Covid-19 virus pandemic has brought new challenges for the entire country and people of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but especially for children and families affected by childhood cancer. Pediatric cancer patients are one the most vulnerable groups in our society due to already immunocompromised health status, and very difficult and very demanding medical treatments.

Our organization has adapted its activities to the new epidemiological situation in order to provide the most efficient and comprehensive support to our members in these difficult times. Our Mobile Team has been very busy in the past quarter, bringing help to children, families, medical workers, and medical institutions across the country.

Our Mobile Team has successfully packed and delivered:

  • more than 250 family-sized hygienic and disinfection packages
  • 3 institutional donations to Pediatric Clinics in Sarajevo, Tuzla and Bihac
  • 200 liters of disinfectants
  • face masks, gloves, visors, paper towels, and toilet paper
  • laptops and PCs for children attending online school

 Also, the Mobile Team:

  • visited several families in Tuzla region, extending physical and psychological support
  • assisted 2 bereaved families who lost their children during Covid-19 pandemic, in particular with transport, administrative and procedural matters, and psychological support

As part of our Family Agriculture Project, we have prepared and delivered 40 agricultural packages to 40 of our families.

We look forward to seeing the little helping hands tend to the kitchen gardens and their happy faces when they welcome the first fruits of their and your labor. We hope they will enjoy cultivating their kitchen gardens, but also spending time together in new activities and forgetting about the isolation and pandemic of COVID-19, at least for a moment.
