Hurray! We are excited to join Secondary School
We are always committed to providing quality education to the children in abject poverty and slums of Kampala. We are still keeping children in school both at primary level and secondary level. However, each year that goes by education becomes costly in Uganda.
Our goal is to ensure that we offer many children the opportunity to be in school to secure their future, and we have managed to do that over the years. By the beginning of this year, in February, we were able to take 4 children to start their secondary level of education both lower and upper level. Mary, Edrine, and Geaffery were able to start their lower secondary level of education, and they were very excited to join Secondary. Marjorine was happy to join high school and also change the school.
Mary, one of our new senior students, says, "Now that I am in my Secondary level of education, I feel much more closer to my dreams of finishing school and get a job to help out with my mother who struggles to ensure her 8 children survive". She believes that this opportunity of acquiring education will enable her to get a better job to help the mother and siblings get out of poverty.
The children got their break from school for the first term on 26th April 2024. They are currently enjoying their three weeks holiday before they report back on 27th May 2024.
We have been able to keep this project running because of your generosity and kind hearts. However we really want to increase the number of children in our program by taking more to school. We have only been able to two children on the sponsorship because of our limited finances.
