In the Fall of 2012 we had an unusally high request for child size PETs in addition to our adult and Pull versions. So much so that we sent an order incomplete with the plan to complete it in 2013. In October we sent 60 child size to Mennonites in Paraquay. In December we sent 50 child PETs to MedShare in GA. Then this month we sent 10 child size to AmeriCares. This was the first shipment to them as a new PET distribution partner.
For years one volunteer had made the child size. In recent years that had been 3 a week. We have trained more volunteers to build this version, but we need the funding to buy the materials to fill these larger requests. We invite more persons to join our efforts in providing rugged mobility for children living in rural areas or where a standard wheelchair simply won't work or last long.
