Ramping Up Production of Child PETs

By Kathy Maynard | Project Leader

Dear PET Friends,

On July 9 7 child PETs were part of a shipment of 77 to MedShare in GA.  On September 4 more were sent to MedShare.  In August we sent a full overseas shipping container that included child size as part of 200 PETs to Zambia, Africa.

Currently we are ramping up normal child PET production for a special order.  See our director's Update.

"*** We are on a special project the next two weeks to build and box 45 extra child sized PETs. On
12-11-2012 we sent 16 PETs and four mini-marts to the Mennonites in Paraguay.
They thoroughly tested them for their situation and ordered a 40' container, to
be shipped from here in Columbia. They have a large number of children who need
them, and are requesting a total of 75 child PETs....
If children in Paraguay need mobility there are going to get PETs. ...

People often ask how we find the groups that need PETs. I will tell you the story of
this one in Paraguay. Edgar Stoesz and I became friends on the board of Habitat
For Humanity International. He is a Mennonite executive (now retired). When he learned about
PETs he began to work toward getting them into Paraguay, where the Mennonites
have worked extensively for over 75 years.
 Networking
with friends is the basis for a lot of the good work of PET. Mel West, Director and Founder"
This shipment will go out in October.  We would appreciate help with funding these 75 child PETs for Paraguay or help us replenish our supply for the next request.
