Om Prakash from Bal Ashram won the International Children's Peace Prize , which is given to a child who has made himself- or herself exceptionally useful in his/her society. The Children's Peace Prize was warded to him on November 19th 2006, by Frederick William Deklierk former president of South Africa, and winner of Nobel Peace prize together with Nelson Mandela.Om Prakash represents 100's of children who have undergone rehabilitation from bal ashram and are now working for the development of the community.
