By Gertrude Banda | General Manager, Chikumbuso
A good friend of mine lost her dad and rather than sending a gift or a card another friend decided to pay it forward and feed an elderly man in Lusaka.
The man who was chosen by the widows is Amos. He can always be found sitting on his veranda on the dirt road to Chikumbuso. Amos has been unable to walk for a good six years now which has made life very hard for he and his wife. The wife, inturn, has had to go out and look for part time jobs inorder to bring food into the house.
It was like God spoke to our friend who lost her dad. From this point on she has replaced the care she gave her dad with caring for Amos. She sends money to feed he and his wife monthly.
