Reading with children is a great way to promote creativity, foster higher-level thinking, and strengthen students’ language skills. Chikumbuso is blessed to have an onsite library for our students to use. Our librarian Annie is always happy to receive new supplies to add to her collection. Throughout the week, Annie reads her favorite books to visiting classes. This week, the first graders were captivated by the tale of Curious George Flies a Kite.
This September, three librarians from the United States will come to Chikumbuso to teach Annie new ways to organize the books in our library. They will also work with the Lubuto Library Project to teach Annie and our teachers about how to more effectively incorporate library resources in the classroom. We are so excited about the new changes coming to Chikumbuso’s school library, and we hope that you will partner with us to bring new books and learning materials to our library.
