Chain of Hope is an animal outreach organization operating in the urban core of Kansas City, Mo. We help with food, shelter, spays and neuters, education and so much more. One of the major things that we assist people with are their veterinary costs, particularly for injuries and illnesses.

It is a very sad thing to watch your beloved pet suffer in front of you and you have no money to take him to the vet. Many people refer people to Chain of Hope for help in these emergencies. We treat many traumatic injuries, severe illnesses and life-threatening diseases for low-income pet owners.

We receive a lot of emotional phone calls from people with no money, trying desperately to find medical help for their pet. In some cases, the pet would die without our help. Sometimes the people surrender the pet over to Chain of Hope because they just can’t deal with the situation. In the majority of cases, however, the pet owner is often devastated and wanting to find help and keep their pet. We help keep that pet and their owner together by providing financial assistance for urgent medical needs.

One of the most common calls we receive is an animal hit by a car. This often involves broken legs. That can need anything from pain medication and rest to surgery to an amputation. We work closely with our veterinarians and the owners to determine the best course of action for their pet.

Many people tell us that without our assistance, their pet would’ve died or they would no longer be able to provide for it medically. We understand that times are hard all over, but when a pet becomes ill or gets injured, they must receive help.

Chain of Hope is only able to provide life-saving medical intervention for so many animals because of our faithful donors. We could not do this without you and we appreciate each and every one of you.
