By Giselle Bonilla | Project Leader
Centro Bonilla is excited to share an update on a new project we have recently launched on GlobalGiving. This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to expanding access to holistic healing services and meeting the evolving needs of our community.
At this stage, our primary focus has been on seeking financial support to initiate a children-centered music and sound healing program. While still in development, this project represents an important next step in our work, and we are actively working toward reaching our overall fundraising goal so that we can bring this vision into practice.
The purpose of this program is to use sound and music as tools for healing and emotional support for children. Through music, rhythm, and sound-based practices, we aim to support emotional expression, nervous system regulation, and the healing of the mind, body, and spirit from traumatic experiences. This approach builds on our existing work with sound healing and reflects our belief in music as a powerful and accessible form of care.
As we continue fundraising, we are also laying the foundation for the program by engaging in community conversations, exploring culturally rooted musical practices, and envisioning how this offering can best support children and families. Our intention is to create a program that is gentle, inclusive, and responsive to the lived experiences of our community.
We are grateful for the support we have already received and deeply appreciate all who are contributing toward this goal. Every donation helps us move closer to initiating this project and expanding our ability to serve children through creative and healing modalities. We remain hopeful and committed to bringing this program to life with the care, integrity, and community collaboration that guide all of our work.
