Since our last post, we’ve gotten even closer to empowering 500 young Cubans with cell phones and the ability to communicate with each other.
The young people we were able to give cell phones now have their own personal tools to tell their story to friends, family, and other Cubans off of the island. Each youth in Cuba has unique experiences, ideas, and outlooks on the future of Cuba. The nearly 500 phones will enable the world to hear and learn from these special people.
Though it is a challenge we face, we are happy to report that we are close to running out of cell phones to send down. With your help, we can build up our inventory for the next 500 youth in Cuba we plan on empowering with new phones. We have big goals to look forward to!
Your gifts have directly provided the modern human right of communication to youth in Cuba. On behalf of the Cubans you’ve been able to help, Raíces de Esperanza, and the Cell Phones for Cuba team we thank you for your continued support. If there is ever anything I can do for you, please don’t hesitate to contact me at miguel@raicesdeesperanza.org
