Thank you for your continued support
By Lau | Project Partner
Thank you for reminding me of the importance of routine. I don’t think I will ever adjust to your 6:30am wake-up time but I admire your consistency! The rest of the day you like to spend eating, bathing, napping, and playing. When your routine is interrupted you become upset. Adhering to your routine has encouraged me to be more intentional with mine. I’m reminded to take better care of myself by spending time outside, moving my body, eating regular meals, getting adequate sleep, and making time for socializing and fun.
Thank you for bringing joy, laughter, and purpose to my life. Thank you for trusting in me and feeling safe with me. Thank you for being my sweet, caring, loving best friend. I promise I will love you forever.
Love,
Lau

Chester's Story

Chester with his new family
I adopted my wonderful 4-year-old mixed-breed dog, Chester, through CICO – Uganda, a dedicated Chinese rescue service. Wendy responded quickly when I reached out, and within a week, we had completed the steps of the adoption process. Chester had a rough beginning to his life as bait for a dog meat festival, but through the wonderful care that Chester received, he is now a healthy, trusting, and friendly dog. I couldn’t have asked for a better companion. He enjoys raw food and walks three times a day with me and cuddles for hours each night. Thanks to the rescue efforts, medical treatment, fostering, fundraising and volunteer work that Wendy and the team at CICO – Uganda have done to rehabilitate animals, Chester is now living his best life in Toronto. I would highly recommend CICO – Uganda if you want to foster or adopt dogs and cats, or support a worthy animal cause with a donation.
Fondly
Lisa and Chester

Hello *****
I dearly want to thankyou on behalf of the communities we support and the entire colleauges of staff at the bottom of our hearts for your support and love in walking with us a big milestone in 2023.
Absolutely none of the above would be possible without the support of everybody here on this newsletter and online in general. The picture below is of some of the things I’ve been sent recently from kind people around the world. As I always say I am just the lucky one who gets to do this out front and I get way too much credit as it is genuinely a community of dog lovers. If ever I need motivation I never need to look far to see how kind people are.
I feel like so many dog lovers would love to drop everything and help the mission. As that is unrealistic so many of you find other ways to chip in and follow along. Thats the key part of the success to date in my opinion. I can’t explain what that support means to me as I ride around on the moped every morning feeding the dogs. It does come with pressure as I don’t want to let people down and I want to move as fast as possible to help as many dogs as we can. That support is never taken for granted.
