Happy August from CCEdFund:
The new school year has begun in Cambodia!
We are off to an exciting start with our students in schools in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh. CCEdFund provides scholarships to Cambodia's future leaders and these students have survived growing up on a garbage dump, being orphaned and impoverished, or being trafficked. Despite all of these obstacles, our students finished the last school year near or at the tops of their classes (!) at exceptional schools because of your continued support. Over the summer, instead of taking well-deserved breaks from studies, our students continued to seek out experiences and opportunities to continue to learn. For example, Kouch sought out tutoring for her math studies and Somalin worked with a teacher on her Khmer reading and writing.
We have even more exciting news - we have many new scholarship nominees from our partners who look like excellent candidates for CCEdFund scholarships. We love receiving and reviewing scholarship applications to find those ambitious students who will change Cambodia. However, we will not grant scholarships unless we can support the students through the completion of their studies.
Even though the school year began 3 days ago, we hope you will consider supporting additional students with CCEdFund this year through a monthly donation. Though the tuition costs vary by student level and school, generally a $25/month donation for 12 months will support the scholarship of one of our students this year. Will you please consider helping again this year so that we can send great news to some of our applicants?
We look forward to writing again soon with news about our students' progress in the first quarter!
Warm regards,Carrie and JenniferLinks:
