A vibrant four-year-old, Lauranne has an inner core of joy that refuses to let anything get her down. She’s endured full-body radiation, a bone marrow transplant and years of chemotherapy to help beat leukemia.
Despite the rigorous treatments, Lauranne’s energy and love for music shines through every day. She loves to sing, plays the ukulele and writes original songs with CCA’s Music Rx team. She’s known for her big smile and snazzy dance moves.
CCA’s award-winning Music Rx program, comprised of music specialists and highly trained volunteers, infuses hospitals with the healing power of music by delivering bedside therapeutic music medicine and staging impromptu hallway performances for sick children and teens. Music Rx’s exclusive magical moblie music cart is custom-designed to hold nearly 100 specialized instruments, interactive songwriting and recording technology and karaoke alongside an iPod lending library doc loaded with music for every age.
Last year, CCA’s Music Rx program brought joy to more than 1,900 children and teens and more than 17,000 were touched by music medicine. CCA also launched a new digital medicine program, MyMusicRx, which delivers the healing power of music to kids worldwide through the MyMusicRx.org website.
With your generous donation we can grow this program and spread the healing joy of music to more children, teens and families.
