Project Report | Dec 21, 2015

By Olga Yushina | Project leader

Dear friends!

Thank you for continiously supporting our project! It means a world.

Little Nikifor, a dandy with a feisty personality, has been a part of our project for over a year.

Last year, he started attending our daycare center, where his individual education and inclusion program began in a resource group.

Moving on from daycare to grade school was somewhat complicated. The need to be completely independent and separate from his mother created a lot of stress for Nik, which affected his physical health.

Our teachers and tutors constantly provided Nikifor with academic support, and did everything in their power to make the transition and adaptation as smooth as possible.

This painstaking effort has been successful. In the last month, Nikifor has not only been attending school without absences; he is now familiar and comfortable with all school activities. He has been excelling at his individual academic program, and the speed he has picked up gives his teachers hope that he will soon be included on all fronts of academic life. Nikifor has completely fit into all the inclusive activities connected with joint recess at school, games, and preparation for celebrating the New Year.

Nik has been under the care of “Galchonok” Charity Fund for a while now; the Fund has been supporting his rehabilitation since his early childhood. And this rehabilitation has been quite successful, as you can see. With special resources and support from tutors, he is just a regular student of grade 1G.

If you are still struggling with presents - here is an idea!

You can always donate to our project on behalf of your friends and family and let them know that this year they have recieved a greatest present ever: with your help they gave hope to an autistic kid to be included in an educational system, make new friends, learn how to read and right, and - why not - even fall in love.
