Tutors. Who are they?

Dear friends!

We continue introducing everyone on the concepts of inclusive education.

To do so correctly, we asked Olga Belova, Alexander's mom to explain to us why our tutors are so important and what is their role in the inclusive education system?

Alexander is in the fifth grade of a public school 1321 with an inclusive educational programme.

My son Alexander is one of the students that experience inclusive education programme implemented in Kovcheg. (Kovcheg - school name - authors remark).

Sasha has an educational curriculum adapted for his needs, and to make his educational process most beneficial, he needs an individual tutor.

Without an individual tutor, Sasha won't be able to absorb valuable social skills.

A tutor has to be with Sasha at all times during regular classroom studies because he makes it work for everyone concentrating Alexander on essential rules of the class and helping him to achieve the goal, correct or assist with instructions.

Also, Saha has his behavior correction programme, a protocol of what is needed to be corrected in his behavior to help him socialize better.

Tutor watches his behavior; he follows the protocol, he gathers data. All this can not be accomplished without a tutor.

Every child with special needs education has their tutor. Tutor assistance is needed in a resource classroom and a regular classroom.

Tutor role cannot be undermined:

during the day, tutor assists, corrects, helps and supports a student not only in a resource room or regular classroom but also assists with interaction with other peers and teachers.

So, as you can tell by now, getting a tutor ready and adequately trained and educated is very important for the inclusion educational program.

Our program of inclusive education will be concentrated on finding tutors among teachers who want a change of scenery and who are ready to get educated and then hired into schools with programmes as such.

We can not do this without your help.
