On 13 November 2025, a destructive landslide struck Desa Cibeunying in Kecamatan Majenang, Kabupaten Cilacap. Triggered by prolonged heavy rainfall and unstable soil conditions, the landslide forced families to leave their homes and remain in evacuation centers for their safety, as the threat of further slope failures persisted. By 21 November, official data from relevant stakeholders reported that 958 were staying in three temporary shelters and their relatives' houses.
This project will provide Cash Assistance to 117 older people and people with disabilities identified through rapid assessment, enabling the most at-risk groups to purchase essential needs such as food items not available in public kitchens, medicines and first-aid supplies, personal hygiene kit, and transportation to access services or reunite with family members.
The project aims to reduce health risks caused by limited supplies and unsafe weather conditions, support the psychological well-being of displaced older people and people with disabilities through autonomy and flexibility, maintain nutritional standards for older people and people with disabilities, help to revive local community markets through cash circulation, and strengthen resilience and recovery for families who lost homes and income sources.
