What's going on with Ebola Kids?

By Rosana Schaack | Director

Clowns Without Borders
Clowns Without Borders
  • Our number has risen to 11 under-five children of the girls (6 girls and 5 boys) one of the young women gave birth to a healthy baby girl on March 22, 2016
  • Alternative to Basic Education (ABE) classes are going on as planned. Two girls were promoted from Level I to Level II and one girl from Level II to Level III
  • Follow up visits made on 30 children affected by Ebola that participated in the retreat sessions. The kids are still in need of assistance for getting into school. One child was brought back to the THINK Home by neighbors for protection when her mother repeatedly neglected her.
  • UNICEF Liberia brought in Clowns Without Borders to entertain Liberian children in January. More than 1,000 children and community members in the ELWA Community benefitted from a show.
  • THINK Safe Home provided services to 10 survivors of sexual violence and 4 girls who are victims of human trafficking.  The THINK Juvenile Transit Center provided shelter and services to 4 children that came in contact or conflict with the law.
  • THINK is providing protection for 2 girls who are victims of forced and early marriage
  • Clinical management and treatment provided for 87 children at the three One Stop Centers for Sexual Violence supervised by THINK

Presently, THINK Home has a serious funding gap and needs help to keep the program operating on schedule to complete Cycle 12. We will appreciate all the donations towards this project. Thank you for your support!
