THINK Liberia has been keeping hope alive amid the second wave of COVID-19 in Liberia, which has remained a challenge for our women and especially for young ladies that are beneficiaries of school assistance. THINK is highlighting the progress of one of our Student Nurses, as she and her classmates return to classes in Ganta, Liberia, at the Winifred J. Harley United Methodist School of Nursing.
Helping this young lady has been a pride and joy for THINK Liberia as she will join our challenged healthcare work force soon. We thank our faithful donors and partners that continue to support our efforts during this difficult time.
We are happy to announce that Liberia has been able to administer a small portion of the population with the COVID-19 AstroZeneca vaccine that is two doses spread between 8 – 12 weeks and has just obtained the Johnson & Johnson (J & J) vaccines that only requires one dose, arrived in Liberia last week and vaccinations have begun in the Capitol City of Monrovia and rural parts of Montserrado County with plans for a national roll-out later this month. In my opinion, the J & J COVID-19 vaccine is best for rural communities in developing countries like Liberia, where a single dose is much easier to administer across the country. To be an example THINK staffs have taken the two doses of the AstroZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.
We are eternally grateful to our donors and partners who have kept our doors open over the years. THANK YOU!!
