Awareness and Prevention of COVID - 19 Rape & SGBV

THINK continues to provide awareness in our shelter and in the community. We are working with the THINK survivors’ support groups in continuing the awareness on COVID-19 and the impact of the increased number of reported Rape cases in Monrovia, around the country. Although the State of Emergency has been relaxed, reported cases of COVID-19 in Liberia are around 1,337 confirmed cases with 80 deaths. The general population still has to wear masks in public and schools are still restricted to Junior High and High School levels only.
THINK has also embarked on expanding the empowerment of women and girls using agro-business and has participated in a Training of Trainers, provided by Wede Agriculture Development Industry (WADI) in Snail and Cane Rat Farming as well as promoting vegetable production.
THINK participated in the 9th observance of the International Day of the Girl Child, hosted by the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection held on Monday, October 12, 2020, under the Global Theme: “My Voice, Our Future”, and National Theme: “Let the Voices of Girls be Louder, Empowering them for an Equal Future”.
