The THINK Safe Home and Juvenile Transit Center continue to provide shelter and protection
Liberia is faced with the major challenge of protecting women and children from Gender-Based Violence. As a passionate advocate and activist in the fight to end sexual and gender-based violence, THINK has been conducting prevention training in the form of community outreach refresher training for Community Action Groups (CAGs) in the prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA), and Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV).
These trainings were conducted in four communities in three counties (Montserrado, Margibi and Grand Bassa), training and working with Community Action Groups (CAGs) to conduct awareness to community dwellers about the One-Stop Centers and the services they provide to survivors of violence, and link these communities to One Stop Centers (OSCs) and police stations nearest them. The CAGs’ primary role is to help prevent violence by awareness sessions from the family level to the wider community level. Community leaders such as traditional leaders, religious leaders, principals, teachers, women leaders, parents, and youth are members of the CAGs. They are the focal points in these communities to be the first line responders for championing the course of action if and when violence occurs.
Thank you, our donors and partners, for helping us to help our children, their parents and communities!
